After months of speculation, we have learned Mercedes Mone AEW contract details following her debut during Dynamite.

In her hometown of Boston Or as AEW advertised it, ‘BOSSton.’

Mone, also known as Sasha Banks, had reportedly been in talks with WWE as well. But, obviously ended up with their greatest, self-described, “challenger brand.”

Details of Mone Coming to AEW

Fightful Select behind paywall revealed that although her official debut occurred on March 13, negotiations with AEW had been ongoing for over two months prior. Discussions reportedly commenced as early as December, coinciding with Mercedes securing trademarks related to her name, hinting at a multi-year agreement.”

“Furthermore, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s involvement in negotiations played a role, indicating a potential partnership alongside AEW,” Fightful noted. “However, AEW is expected to be Mercedes’ primary focus, despite her enduring a severe injury last year in May, necessitating extensive recovery and surgeries.”

Mone was originally supposed to debut in January. However, injuries prevented that from happening.

In addition, she had some brief talks with WWE during this time.

When she left the WWE in 2022, she was one of the biggest female stars with the company. She was up there alongside Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bayley.

Mone and Bayley remain close friends. The WWE star even appeared at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite to cheer on her friend.

Mone is Money

After her debut during the beginning of the show, Mone returned at the end to rescue Willow Nightengale who was being beat down by heels Julia Hart and Skye Blue.

Who will be Mone’s first big challenger? There are no clear indications as of yet, though the strongest suggestion from Wednesday night seemed to be that she could chllange Hart for her TBS women’s title.

Mercedes Mone is scheduled to appear and speak at next week’s AEW Dynamite.

So, after hearing about the Mercedes Mone AEW contract details, did she sign with the right promotion?
