Nikki Cross sets the record straight.

Though she may not appear on television all the time, Nikki Cross has kept herself quite occupied outside of wrestling. In pursuit of higher education, Cross is currently enrolled in an online program to obtain a Master’s Degree in History. This May, Cross (real name Nicola Glencross) will officially graduate.

While she closes in on her course completion, rumors surrounding the star’s future in WWE have begun to circulate. On Twitter, one fan claimed that the former RAW Women’s Champion would be “leaving WWE for a long time” after the company’s big WrestleMania 39 showcase to begin her path to Ph.D.

Cross, of course, has now shot down that rumor.

“Hello. I hope you are well. this is not true,” Cross tweeted in response. “This is the first time I have ever heard about this. Pretty sure I’m a reliable source. If I choose to pursue a PHD after my completing my masters in May, I wouldn’t take time off wrestling. I would do both. Just to clarify.”

In a recent interview with Fightful, Cross revealed that her History thesis is actually due May 1st. After her graduation, she plans to possibly take a vacation with her husband, Big Damo (Killian Dain), and then “maybe” pursue a Ph.D.

“For me, I genuinely love learning,” she said. “For me, I think about the future and maybe 30 years from now and what I want to do 30 years from now. But, for me, as of now, I just love learning, and I just think it’s really important to learn.”
