Week two of NWA Powerrr on the CW App featured three more title matches and the winners of the 2023 Crockett Cup. With showcases from Exodus Pro Wrestling, the expanding reach of the returning NWA Territory system is in full force.

NWA Powerrr Recap:

The Southern 6 vs. Knox + Murdoch

The opening contest saw the Southern 6, Alex Wright, and Kerry Morton vs the 2023 Crockett Cup Winners Knox and Murdoch.

Ricky Morton, former NWA legend and member of the Rock n Roll Express, was ringside with the Southern 6. Kerry Morton and Trevor Murdoch would open the match, and Knox would take control early. The early portion of the contest saw the brute strength of Knox and Murdoch control the ring.

Ricky Morton would make his presence felt by grabbing at the feet of Murdoch. This distraction would allow for a low blow and the Southern 6 to start their comeback. After a short series of offense from Morton and Wright, Murdoch would come out of the corner with a huge slam to regain control.

After hitting their “High Low” finishing maneuver to secure victory, the elder Morton would get involved again, pulling the referee out before the three count. The ensuing brawl would lead to a no-contest call by the referee. Kyle Davis would plead on the PA to “get more people out here” as the five men fought all over the arena.

Kratos has Words for the SlimeBallz.

Kratos and Odinson, the defending NWA US Tag Team Champions, would cut a promo on the up-and-coming stars from Exodus Pro Wrestling.

“Who?… The Slimeball rejects from Exodus pro. I hope you brought a whole lot of paramedics… there is a difference between playing wrestling and being a pro wrestler.”
-Kratos

After winning the US Tag Titles from The Southern Gentlemen, the Immortals have been on a tear, and I fear no one, including the NWA Tag Champs, BFT.

TV Title Unification Match

Under NWA rules and regulations, once a TV champion from either division reaches seven successful title defenses, that champion earns a world title shot in the respective division. The “Nonbinary Nightmare” Max the Impaler has reached that mark, whereas “Big Strong Matt Mims” is only at three.

The unification bought for the men’s and women’s TV titles was set up after the two champions have been career-making runs as of late. Max, the current Zero1 Women’s world champion and NWA Women’s TV champion, has defended their titles on multiple continents as well as all over the United States.

The match would start and go outside early. After returning to the ring, there would be a clean technical exchange leading to a huge shoulder tackle by Mims. The two would continue going back and forth, with neither showing a clear-cut advantage.

Max would land a splash in the corner that would make the legend Vader proud. The ring awareness of referee Scott Wheeler would notice Mims’ foot under the ropes stopping the count. The back and forth would continue until Max would hit a huge powerbomb out of the corner, securing the victory.

This victory would end a 137-day reign for Matt Mims.

NWA US Tag Team Titles

The showcase of Exodus Pro Wrestling stars coming through the ranks continued this week on NWA Powerrr. The Slimeballz, Sage Chanz, and Tommy Rants would have a strong showing. The Immortals would maintain control throughout the match. Tommy Rants would show signs of hope as he and Odinson would have a great exchange in the middle of the ring.

The finishers of the Immortals, if nothing else, have the coolest names in wrestling. The Asgardian Pounce, a modified spear, and a modified Doomsday Device, Immortality. The Immortals would hit “Immortality” for the finish, as Odinson would jump from the tables on the stage back into the ring for the maneuver.

The National Heavyweight Title Main Event

William Patrick Corgan would hand pick “The Ripper” Burchill to challenge Silas Mason for “the Natty,” on this wee’s NWA Powerrr.

Mason won the National heavyweight Title back at NWA 75 in a triple-threat match. After winning, he would turn his back on longtime partner and manager Pollo Del Mar. Since then, as a part and de facto leader of the Southern 6, Mason has been at the height of his NWA career.

The match would start with Mason gaining control early. Burchill would have bits of offense, but the majority of the match was all “Thrillbilly.” Burchill would showcase athleticism but would take a nasty bump on the apron after going over the top rope. Silas Mason would maintain control, but Burchill’s strong will would keep him in the fight. Thrillbilly would hit his “Thrillride” finisher for the pinfall, securing another successful title defense.
