A new report provides an update on the 2024 WWE Draft and which NXT stars could be a part of it.

The WWE Draft will be held on April 26 and April 29. Reigning NXT Champions Ilja Dragunov and Roxanne Perez competed on the April 8 episode of WWE RAW. Dragunov has been confirmed to be draft-eligible.

Corey Brennan of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that there has been a renewed focus on NXT as part of the draft. Per sources, NXT is setting the stage for other main roster stars to jump to NXT as part of a push to make NXT WWE’s third brand again. This initiative could be seen on the April 9 episode of NXT. There, Ivar and the Final Testament made surprise appearances.

Which NXT Stars Could Be Part Of The Draft?

Brennan also cites talent who have spoken to NXT’s Shawn Michaels and noted that he said he was not sure who would be brought up from NXT. However, Ilja Dragunov and former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes are said to be a lock for RAW or SmackDown.

Roxanne Perez’s status is still up in the air. She has already teased that she will be part of the WWE Draft. Per Brennan, Tony D’Angelo and Baron Corbin have also been discussed for potential moves to RAW and SmackDown.

Additionally, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that the timing of the WWE Draft is intentional. WWE had planned to have the draft line up to capitalize on “draft fever.” Furthermore, Sapp cites sources who noted that input on the draft would be “accepted” from WWE’s media partners. This was especially said of CW and Netflix, given their media deals.

That being said, Sapp writes that one WWE source stated that Netflix being closer to next year’s draft would that more of a factor for 2025, not 2025.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
