Shark Week 2023 is almost here, and in a network crosser, Shark Week mascot Chompie was backstage at the special Blood and Guts episode of AEW Dynamite on July 19.

Chompie and former WCW and TNA star Shark Boy were featured in various digital content that AEW and Discovery shared online. Shark Boy fittingly promoted Shark Week and punctuated the message with his iconic “Shell Yeah!”

Chompie also popped up during the July 19 episode of Dynamite and danced behind the commentary team. The mascot even got a high-five from Tony Schiavone.

Shark Week will begin on July 23, and it will be hosted by Jason Momoa.

AEW Has Crossed Over With Shark Week In The Past

AEW previously collaborated with Discovery for Shark Week 2022. On the Jully 20, 2022, episode of AEW Dynamite, Eddie Kingston faced Chris Jericho in a Barbed Wire Death Match, and the Jericho Appreciation Society was suspended in a shark cage. The members of the group eventually got out and helped Jericho score the win.
