Skye Blue opened up about her heel turn during a recent interview.

Blue's character took a darker turn after being hit with poison mist from Julia Hart on the September 23 edition of AEW Collision. In the following weeks, she would turn on her former allies Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale.

Blue described how the storyline with House of Black was pitched to her during an appearance on Talk Is Jericho.

She said:

I did not expect it, like, at all. I remember me and Willow were talking about just wanting to tag and wanting to just be a woman's tag team and whatever and try to make a tag division, because there's not a lot of woman's tags here yet. So, we were like 'Oh, we can do that.'

They presented the idea, like 'Hey, you're going to get misted' and I was like, 'Does that mean I get to be spooky?' And they were like, 'Yeah, have you ever been a heel?' I was like, 'No.' I always wanted to be heel on the indies, everybody was like, 'No, you're too much like a cute little babyface.' Come on, guys, I can be mean.

Blue continued to say that there was a period where it wasn't clear if her heel turn would happen. She was told "maybe, maybe not" about the angle but expressed to management that she wanted to challenge herself in the role.

She said:

I want to challenge myself, I want to learn how to be a heel, I want to learn. I was like, I want to learn every aspect of wrestling. I want to do as much of it as I can so I was super excited.

And I feel like me and Julia could be a really cool tag team.  I feel like we kind of look like, not like sisters, but the blonde brunette duo and we're both super young.

Blue made her AEW debut at Daily's Place during the pandemic. She will return to the venue tonight for AEW: Homecoming. She is scheduled to team with Hart, Ruby Soho, and Saraya tonight on the show. They will wrestle the team of Thunder Rosa, Anna Jay, Kris Statlander, and Willow Nightingale.

Her full appearance on Talk is Jericho is available below.
