Steve Corino has had a great professional wrestling career. He’s won multiple titles over the years, including the ECW World Championship and ROH World Tag Team Championship. He is currently a producer and trainer for the NXT brand.

One of his earliest television appearances actually came as a “plant” during an angle on WWE TV in 1996. He was seated in the front row as one of the audience members during a segment involving former WWE Superstar Crush.

Crush has also wrestled under different monikers such as Kona Crush, Brian Adams, The American Ninja, The Demon, among others. This segment on WWE programming saw Crush during his “jailbird” run, as WWE kayfabe claimed he was fresh out of prison.

Crush went on a rampage and attacked a member of the crowd. The poor fan who got attacked was the current WWE NXT producer Steve Corino.

Corino took to Twitter to react to the segment on the 27th anniversary of that unfortunate incident.

“That poor kid!” Steve Corino tweeted.

Steve Corino played a role in helping Wes Lee during a tough time in his career

One of the fastest-rising tag teams in WWE NXT was MSK. The duo that formed the team are Wes Lee and Nash Carter. The two even won the NXT Tag Team Titles twice. But following a controversial post from Carter’s wife, he was terminated from his contract. Following that, Wes Lee was left partnerless. There were a lot of questions about what his future would be like.

During an interview with Phil Strum of Under The Ring, Lee mentioned that Terry Taylor and Steve Corino helped him thrive during the hard times.

“Yes, Coach Terry Taylor and Coach Steve Corino. They have been major crutches for me. When the separation of MSK happened, I was inside of Coach Terry Taylor’s class. He made sure that I knew it was going to be okay. Even though you have this major obstacle in front of you, it’s not something that should deter you. He pushed me. He made sure that I knew that I had the capabilities within my body to be able to produce what I wanted to that was in my head,” Wes Lee said.

Lee went on to be a top star in the singles competition. He also captured the North American Championship once. He lost it to Dominik Mysterio.
