Wondering if we could we see yet another WWE legend back in the ring soon, Stone Cold Steve Austin provides an update on his future.

For years, we thought he was long retired. That door seemed entirely closed, and for good reason.

Decades in the ring took a toll on Austin, as it does with many wrestlers.

The Texas Rattlesnake turns 60 later this year, so he isn’t exactly young and spry.

He surprised us all by getting back in the ring and effectively working the main event of WrestleMania in Dallas, alongside Kevin Owens.

At that point, it certainly seemed that he would wrap a storied career back in his home state.

Or would he?

Stone Cold Steve Austin Provides Update On Future

The Hall of Fame Superstar spoke recently with ESPN, and he left us wondering if he had something brewing.

He noted that he had previously said he would never get in the ring again, unless the stars aligned.

And, for WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, they did indeed align.

So, he’s going with a “never say never” approach.

For him to consider anything, he would need a perfect storm yet again.

Of course, the match with Kevin Owens wasn’t a full-blown match so much as it was a spectacle.

But could he get in the ring again? And if so, against who?

Well, he mentioned one name more than others.

CM Punk and Steve Austin has long been a dream match. However, it never worked out.

But…Punk is back in WWE, and Austin seems open to the idea.

Just…don’t expect to see them show up in our RAW results any time soon.

Such a match would be worthy of a major premium live event.

WrestleMania would be ideal, but Punk is injured. Unless they want to wait for next year’s Showcase of the Immortals…what about SummerSlam?

For now, it is all talk…but it’s fun to dream.
