This past Monday Night on Raw, DIY managed to win a Triple Threat Tag Team match to earn a shot Tag Team Championships currently held by The Miz and R-Truth, Awesome Truth.
The Awesome Truth received brand new championship titles on Raw as well. They are no longer the Raw Tag Team Champions. The Miz and R-Truth are the new WWE World Tag Team Champions. As they were celebrating and showing off their new titles backstage, Jackie Redmond caught up with them to ask about their thoughts on the new number one contenders.
The A-Lister, The Miz mentioned that he and his tag team partner are good friends with Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. They also know the former NXT Tag Team Champions very well. Thus he and Truth are ready for their match against DIY.
“Expect the unexpected. You never know what to expect when you are the Tag Team Champions. And so, we are ready. We’re prepared, we know them inside and out. I feel like we’re pretty good friends,” The Miz said.
R-Truth, who was standing right next to Miz all along, thought the A-Lister was talking about Shawn Michaels and Triple H. He also confirmed that the two are good friends with Michaels and Triple H.
“We are great friends with them. You talking about Shawn [Michaels] and Triple H? Yeah we are good friends with them. Hey let’s go show off our titles down here,” R-Truth said.
The tag team match between Awesome Truth and DIY for the WWE World Tag Team Championship will be taking place next week on Monday Night Raw. A new WWE Women’s World Champion will also be crowned on the show.
