Tom Hannifan speaks highly of Mike Tenay.

Hannifan, formerly known as Tom Phillips in WWE, made his IMPACT Wrestling debut at the Hard To Kill 2022 pay-per-view, and he has been part of the broadcast team ever since. Hannifan recently re-signed with the company, and in the eyes of many fans, he has become the voice of IMPACT. In this role, he joins a remarkable lineage of IMPACT/TNA commentators, including Mike Tenay. “The Professor” had a long run with the company and called the action for a number of classic moments and matches.

Hannifan praised Tenay when he retweeted a post from You’ve Got To Be Kidding Me, a TNA podcast, which highlighted Samoa Joe’s debut in the company. Hannifan highlighted the way that Tenay made Joe feel special. The IMPACT broadcaster stated that he and Matthew Rehwoldt have “a hell of a standard to strive for,” as they are following in Tenay’s footsteps. He wrote that it’s an honor and a privilege to sit in the same chair as Tenay.

Gail Kim recently stated that she believes Tenay and the late Don West deserve to be inducted into the IMPACT Hall of Fame. Check out her comments here.
