WWE is heavily promoting WrestleMania 40, but Triple H and Pat McAfee found time to mock AEW talent and their low attendance figures.

The Pat McAfee Show has a ton of followers and WWE is aware. Therefore, a special episode aired and featured a bunch of talent set for WrestleMania 40. Besides active wrestlers, Pat McAfee had the likes of Michael Cole and Triple H appear. While not direct, both took shots at AEW’s talent working lighter schedules and their shrinking audience.

It all started with Triple H going over the pay per view. He focused on the importance of new talent and then took his jab at AEW wrestlers. “When I see people coming out of trying to make it, and then they pick a job where, well, they work less, the schedule is lighter, then I’m like, ‘I’m glad I didn’t pick you,’” said Triple H. “If you’re not in it for the grind, at that point early in your career, you have no business being here.” Later, McAfee commented on the possibility of Rhea Ripley  leaving Dominik Mysterio if does not win. “He’d probably be at that other place, in front of 600 people,” said McAfee.

Will Tony Khan Respond?

WWE

There is no denying those are direct shots at AEW. It will be intersting to see if anyone responds. Those under contract to AEW might not say much, but Tony Khan likes to trade barbs on social media. In the past, Khan’s words have not made him or the company look good. Honestly, he should be quiet and let WWE produce WrestleMania 40. It is not like AEW has the ability to counter such an epic event. So, was there need for Triple H and Pat McAfee to knock the AEW attendance?
