Could CM Punk join IMPACT Wrestling? According to a new report, it’s possible, if not necessarily likely.

Many fans buzzed about former WWE and AEW World Champion CM Punk potentially coming to IMPACT ahead of Bound For Glory, one of IMPACT’s biggest shows of the year. The event was held in Chicago, CM Punk’s hometown. The company reportedly brought in Ace Steel, Punk’s trainer and longtime friend, as a producer for the show. Punk did not appear at the pay-per-view, but he reportedly attended the television tapings the next day.

Now, fans continue to wonder whether Punk could actually come into IMPACT. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that it may be a longshot, but the company was open to him coming it. Punk reportedly made a good impression when he appeared backstage at the Chicago tapings in April.

In an update, as of a few weeks ago, sources close to Punk said they didn’t think he would want to join IMPACT. However, they said that if he woke up and wanted to wrestle Josh Alexander or the Motor City Machine Guns, he probably could. Another source noted that Punk would under the right circumstances.

What’s The Hurdle To CM Punk Joining IMPACT?

It may be obvious, but a big hurdle with CM Punk working with IMPACT would be the salary. In AEW, Punk made roughly 15-20 times what many top stars in IMPACT were making.

As previously noted, IMPACT brought Ace Steel in for Bound For Glory weekend. However, the move was not linked to Punk. The company reportedly wanted to bring Steel in when AEW first let him go in 2022. At that time, Punk was not available, as he was still under contract with AEW.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
