XFL reinstates player accused of leaking offensive plays to other teams

If nothing else, Orlando Guardians quarterback Quinten Dormady certainly is a having an interesting season in the latest XFL comeback.

Per Kevin Seifert of ESPN and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the XFL has officially reinstated Dormady after it looked into some bizarre accusations made against the signal-caller.

"It has been determined that allegations of impropriety were unsubstantiated and there is no basis for disciplinary action" against Dormady, the XFL said in a brief statement.

Reports surfaced earlier this month claiming that Orlando had released Dormady because the club had reasons to believe he had shared some offensive plays with other teams in the league. However, it was then said on March 3 that the XFL temporarily reinstated Dormady to the Guardians roster while the league completed "a formal investigation into the issue."

Florio wrote on March 4 that laws potentially could have been broken as it pertains to gambling if Dormady was guilty of leaking offensive plays to opposing franchises. Fans are able to place legal bets on XFL games and also build daily and weekly fantasy lineups via gambling applications.

In total, Dormady has appeared in just one game with the Guardians this XFL season. He completed 12-of-18 pass attempts for 142 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in that losing effort.

The Guardians have started the season at 0-4 and are the only winless team in the XFL South Division. Orlando next plays at the 0-4 Vegas Vipers of the XFL North on Saturday night.
