This was supposed to be the big homecoming for Amanda Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs), but her fight with Nina Meinke (18-3, 4 KOs) was canceled by the commission in Puerto Rico. The early reports are that some gel fell into Serrano’s eye almost 36 hours ago while she was getting her hair done. The doctors examined the eye on fight night and would not allow the fight to continue.

Serrano still went to the ring with her promoter, Jake Paul, and explained herself to the Puerto Rican crowd that was booing her. Paul would later add that Serrano’s cornea was exposed and that Serrano would be at risk if she had moved forward with the fight. It was announced that the fans in attendance would receive a 100% refund of their ticket purchase. Serrano would end it by saying, “I will come back, and I will retire here (Puerto Rico).”

‘The Problem Child’ scores another first-round knockout

Jake ‘The Problem Child’ Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) scored a first-round knockout over Ryan Bourland (17-3, 6 KOs). Paul started the fight with some hard left hook to the body, but an overhand right by Paul rocked Bourland, which led to a barrage of punches, ending the fight by knockout.

After the fight, Paul apologized for the fight being short due to the first-round knockout. Paul called out Canelo Alvarez but will wait to announce his next fight.

‘Bomba’ Gonzalez squeezes out unanimous decision

Jonathan ‘Bomba’ Gonzalez (28-3-1, 14 KOs) and Rene Santiago (12-4, 9 KOs) had a very competitive matchup, but in the end, Gonzalez scored the unanimous decision. The judges saw this one 116-112, 115-113, and 117-111 all for the WBO junior flyweight champion Gonzalez.

The fight was hard to score as both fighters had their moments. There wasn’t a clear winner when watching it, but the judges liked Gonzalez’s accuracy in this fight, which earned him the decisive victory. Gonzalez wasn’t ready to answer any questions about his future while just mentioning that his management would make that decision.
