Kenny Clark has been a staple on the Green Bay Packers defensive line ever since the team selected him in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
He's consistent and reliable. He's also excellent when he's able to remain healthy — which he has been for the past three seasons in a row.
Clark is easily one of the most important players on the Packers roster this season — especially with new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley looking to make a big impact early and often for what is otherwise a Green Bay team that looks like a contender.
If he can make Hafley look good and help the players around him integrate to the scheme, Green Bay could win a Super Bowl in 2024.
And how about beyond?
Clark, 28, is on the final deal of a four-year, $70 million contract he signed in August 2020. As far as the future is concerned, he did reveal at mandatory minicamp that the Packers and his representation are discussing an extension.
"There's been talks, still ongoing," Clark said Tuesday, via Ashley Washburn of MJ4 in Milwaukee, at Packers mandatory minicamp. "They're talking, though, and that's the only thing I got on that."
It's still ongoing, but they're talking... I love it here. I love my teammates. I love the organization. Hopefully everything will work out."#Packers DE Kenny Clark on contract extension talks and how he wants to end his career in Green Bay.

That's not a ton of detail, but it certainly sounds like the three-time Pro Bowler wants to be a Packer for life.
"I love it here. I love my teammates. I love the organization," Clark said.
