With deadlines for roster bonuses approaching in the next few weeks, CFL teams are working with their players on restructured contracts.

That includes the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who agreed on a new deal with quarterback Trevor Harris.

The new deal includes a $250,000 signing bonus for Harris, according to 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk. He has a base salary of $189,500, plus $15,000 for marketing, $13,800 for housing, and $5,000 for travel. In total, the deal is worth $473,300 in 2024.

Harris, 37, can earn up to $27,000 in incentives, including $1,500 per game if he plays 51% or more of the offensive snaps.

Harris joined the CFL in 2012 after spending time in the NFL, AFL, and UFL. He played for the Toronto Argonauts and was mainly the backup until he threw for 4,354 yards and a league-leading 33 touchdowns in 2015.

In 2016, he started 10 games for Ottawa and threw for 3,301 yards and 16 touchdowns, with four interceptions. He helped the Redblacks win the 2016 Grey Cup in his first year. He spent two more seasons with the Redblacks before moving on to Edmonton.

After two seasons with Edmonton, he played with Montreal for a season and a half. He signed with Saskatchewan in 2023, starting five games and throwing for 1,274 yards and six touchdowns. His season was cut short with a tibial plateau fracture.

Harris is 116 passing yards from reaching 30,000 in his career. He has 160 touchdowns and 75 interceptions. He’s won two Grey Cup titles in his career, one with the Argos and one with Ottawa.
