Demarcus Elliott is joining the defending Super Bowl champions.

On Saturday, the former Indiana defensive lineman signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. Elliott joins fellow Hoosier Cam Jones, who also signed with the Chiefs.

Now a 6-foot-3, 315-pound defensive tackle, Elliott worked his way from junior college to the NFL, beginning his college football career at Garden City Community College in Kansas. After helping Garden City reach the 2018 NJCAA national championship game, Elliott transferred to Indiana before the 2019 season.

Elliott made an immediate impact at Indiana in 2019, starting 12 games and making 35 tackles with three sacks on his way to receiving an All-Big Ten honorable mention. He played in seven games with six starts in 2020, helping the Hoosiers reach their second consecutive bowl game.

He continued to be a mainstay at defensive tackle for Indiana, starting all 24 games during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Elliot finished his Indiana career with 109 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, four passes defended and one forced fumble.

Elliot was one of seven Hoosiers to sign with NFL teams as undrafted free agents. Indiana had zero NFL Draft picks in 2023, snapping the program's nine-year streak with at least one pick.
