Indiana Hoosiers football resumes workouts after coronavirus-related break

As had been expected, the Indiana Hoosiers football program resumed voluntary workouts two weeks after a coronavirus outbreak temporarily halted training sessions.

Earlier this month, six individuals linked with the team tested positive. They were quarantined, and the school paused workouts for only the football program.

Per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN), 33 of 480 tests conducted within the Indiana athletic program returned positive results.

Moving forward, those who test positive for the coronavirus, as well as anyone found in close contact with an infected person, must self-isolate until otherwise directed.

Recently, Rutgers and Michigan State football teams had to enter quarantine periods due to virus outbreaks. On Wednesday, Penn State reported eight positive coronavirus test results among student-athletes.

The Big Ten has already moved to conference-only schedules for football and other sports, and it's believed the league will release a revised football calendar on Friday or Saturday.
