Pac-12 postpones football, other fall sports due to coronavirus pandemic

The expected Tuesday cancellations of the Big Ten and Pac-12 football and other fall seasons were confirmed by those organizations on Tuesday.

While the Big Ten officially announced at around 3 p.m. ET, Stadium's Brett McMurphy confirmed the Pac-12 decision roughly an hour later. McMurphy added that, like the Big Ten, the Pac-12 may attempt to schedule a springtime football format:

McMurphy was the first to report on Monday that the Mountain West had postponed football and all other fall sports due to the worsening coronavirus pandemic. The Mountain West later confirmed the news. 

The Mid-American Conference canceled fall schedules on Saturday. 

The SEC, ACC, and Big 12 all still intend to conduct football seasons this fall as of the afternoon of Aug. 11.
