Mark Hoppus gives a shout out to Cincinnati Reds blink-182 cover

Nick Castellanos and Jesse Winker were each selected as starters for Tuesday's (July 13) 2021 MLB All-Star Game based on their abilities as outfielders, but Mark Hoppus agrees that this impromptu cover of blink-182's 2004 smash single "I Miss You" by Winker and Castellanos's son, Liam, is also All-Star caliber:

Hoppus co-founded blink-182 in 1992 alongside Tom DeLonge and Scott Raynor. Travis Barker replaced Raynor as drummer in 1998, and the rest is more or less punk history.

Cut4's video was presumably a welcomed distraction for Hoppus, who is battling cancer.

The 49-year-old bassist and vocalist has been updating fans on his battle in real time since publicly disclosing his diagnosis June 23:

Hoppus has been incredibly candid, but Saturday (July 10) brought an especially profound message:

Along with blink-182, Hoppus co-founded Simple Creatures with All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth in January 2019.
