Pitt Wrestling landed a talented WPIAL 2025 commit in Connellsville’s Evan Petrovich, who announced his decision last Sunday on Instagram.
“I am very excited to announce that I will continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Pittsburgh!,” Petrovich wrote in his decision statement. Petrovich had a fantastic 2023-24 season at 145 pounds as a junior, winning 41 of his 48 matches, the WPIAL Title at his weight class and finishing in Third Place at the PIAA Championships. He won 12 matches with a pin, two on technical fall, nine on major decision and 16 on decision.
He joins Thomas Jefferson’s Bode Marlow as one of two WPIAL Commits in the Class of 2025, and Carson Welsh from New Jersey as three recruits in that year’s class.
Redshirt first-year Jared Keslar is the other person on Pitt wrestling from Connellsville and will make it two when Petrovich comes along in 2025.
