It appears Robert Griffin III is fed up with the criticism that the former Michigan star quarterback has been getting ever since his draft prediction brought him among the top three prospects of the upcoming NFL draft. JJ McCarthy’s odds have been one of the most debatable topics of discussion throughout the offseason.

As many argue, given his fellow’s remarkable stats through college, McCarthy doesn’t stand equivalent to them. His critiques have questioned his standing in the first-round picks, let alone among the top five prospects

However, RG3 believes otherwise, as he claimed the reason McCarthy’s ability lacks evidence was the offense he led in Michigan, where not much burden was put upon his shoulders. He believes the young quarterback is the winner, and his 27-1 winning record is the epitome of that.

He is a winner. He has all of the same skills as the rest of the guys in this draft class... JJ has all those things. He just wasn't asked to do them. So I do think some analysts are looking at and saying 'show it to me on tape. Said Griffin on the recent episode of RG3 and The Ones.

Griffin highlighted that at Wolverines, McCarthy was asked to make the right decision and win games. And he did that as a true champion.

Jim Harbaugh’s sheer faith in JJ McCarthy

While talking about why McCarthy deserves to be a first-round pick, Griffin also emphasized that the quarterback wouldn’t have any issue settling in the environment of the NFL. “He’s been in the NFL-style environment” under head coach Jim Harbaugh, which the executives love about him.

Harbaugh, who has returned to the league as the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, also expressed his faith in McCarthy, saying he deserves to be the first quarterback drafted in his 2024 class.

The Chargers’ new head coach also claimed that McCarthy is the best quarterback in the 2024 draft as he holds a solid command of the team’s offense. Perhaps McCarthy’s true worth will be revealed once the NFL Draft comes into action.
