This week Oregon Ducks put a bow on their 2023 class, signing Southern California cornerback Rodrick Pleasant in one of the biggest recruiting wins for Dan Lanning since taking the helm in Eugene.

Now it's on to 2024, and the Ducks already have some solid momentum, boasting the No. 8 class in the country. The headliner of that group is Southern California wide receiver Jordan Anderson, a four-star (0.9560 according to 247Sports) recruit that committed to Oregon in December.

Earlier this week, the 6-foot, 165-pound pass catcher announced that he would be transferring from Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan High School to Newport Harbor High School.

As a junior in 2022, Anderson caught 47 passes for 984 receiving yards and scored 14 touchdowns, also contributing as a defensive back and return specialist. He led the Rams in receiving touchdowns with 14 and finished second on the squad in total receiving yards behind fellow 2024 four-star wide receiver Ryan Pellum (1,028 receiving yards).

Anderson was one of the top players in the Moore league last season and worked in tandem with Pellum, senior running back Nygel Osborne and elite quarterback Myles Jackson, now at Stanford, to form a dangerous offensive attack.

Prior to this transfer Anderson spent previous seasons at Downey (Calif.) Warren (2020-2021) and Millikan (2022).

The Newport Harbor Sailors finished with an 8-5 record in 2022, going 2-3 in the Sunset League. The Sunset League features schools like Los Alamitos (previous home to Malachi Nelson and Makai Lemon), Edison, Corona del Mar, Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach High School.

Anderson isn't the only new player transferring to join the Sailors for 2023, as former Los Alamitos (Calif.) High School quarterback Jaden O'Neal, a 2026 prospect that already holds eight Power 5 offers, is slated to be the next signal caller. The Sailors went to the Division 4 playoffs last year and return 2024 three-star wide receiver Josiah Larmarque among other top players.
