Tiger Woods on Masters: 'As of right now I feel like I am going to play'

The Masters is set tee off in less than 48 hours. The way things are currently trending, it appears there's a very good chance that the face of the sport over the last quarter-century will be competing.

Woods said on Sunday that he'd be a "game-time decision" for the 2022 event, and on Monday, it was widely reported that the five-time Masters-champion was impressing in practice sessions ahead of Thursday's first round. Woods competed in the COVID-19 pandemic-delayed 2020 Masters — finishing 38th — but was involved in a serious car accident in February 2021 that nearly caused him to lose a leg.

In December, the 46-year-old made his return to competition in the PNC Championship — a two-round father-son tournament — where he played with his son, Charlie. Woods is tied with Sam Snead for the most PGA Tour victories of all time with 82 and is second in majors with 15.

His last major victory was at the 2019 Masters, a shocking result that came 11 years following his last win at the 2008 U.S. Open.
