There is a new pitching matchup on deck for Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday night.

Joe Mantiply will serve as the opener for the Arizona Diamondbacks while veteran left-hander Andrew Heaney will go for the Texas Rangers.

A bullpen game had previously been announced for Arizona, with Mantiply the anticipated starter, but the Rangers had said that Jon Gray would start.

But once Max Scherzer left Game 3 early with injury, Gray was pressed into duty, throwing three innings in relief. He earned the win, throwing three scoreless innings.

So, in steps Heaney, who moved into the bullpen for the end of the regular season and the playoff run. The 32-year-old lefty went 10-6 this season, his first in Texas. He pitched to a 4.15 ERA and provided stability to a rotation that lost Jacob deGrom early in the year to season-ending injury.

Heaney is a 10-year veteran who has pitched for the Marlins, Angels, Yankees, Dodgers and Rangers. He has appeared in five games during these playoffs. He did make a start during the ALCS, going just 0.2 innings in Game 4. He allowed four hits and three earned runs.

Game 4 of the World Series will begin at 8:03 p.m. ET. The Rangers currently have a 2-1 series lead by virtue of their win in Game 3. Corey Seager helped pace the victory with a two-run home run.

The Rangers are looking for their first World Series title in the organization's history. The D'Backs are looking for their second.
