Carlos Correa: Derek Jeter 'didn't deserve any of the Golden Gloves he won'

If the New York Yankees end up signing Carlos Correa, the free-agent shortstop is probably going to have to do some graveling to get into the fans' good graces.

A recent podcast appearance featuring an oft-outspoken Correa is getting some extra attention this week because of comments he made about former Yankees figurehead Derek Jeter not being deserving of the five Gold Gloves he won during his playing career.

On one hand, Correa isn't completely alone in citing Jeter's stats and thinking his defense shouldn't have warranted so many awards, as ESPN Radio demonstrated earlier this week.

However, it's hard to imagine thousands of Yankees' fans sitting down to crunch the numbers on whether or not one of the most beloved players of the last few decades was worthy of his accolades or not.

So, even if Correa is accurate in his summation, he's probably not going to be met with a lot of love from fans if New York signs him.

And you can bet he will be met with extra enthusiastic boos if he signs with one of their rivals.
