The New York Mets can't stop winning, and Pete Alonso is a big reason why. The four-time All-Star went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk, and two runs scored in the Mets' 8-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday, and he's now slashing .346/.462/.664 with seven homers and 28 RBI on the season.

The latter stat ranks third in MLB, and Alonso's 1.126 OPS is second only to Aaron Judge (1.235). The 30-year-old extended his hit streak to four games and now has hits in 10 of his last 11 games.

However, Alonso is no stranger to leading New York offensively. In fact, the former NL Rookie of the Year is now tied with Ed Kranepool for fifth on the Mets' all-time RBI list at 614.

Alonso reacted to the news after the game, via SNY.

"Oh! Sick! That's awesome, hell yeah," he said. "We've had such a tremendous amount of guys come through this organization that are absolute ballers, and to be on that list is really cool. We've had some great players here, and it's an honor for sure."

"He's one of those cornerstone guys, one of the original Mets," he said about Kranepool. "For the old school people, people love him, so that's really awesome."

The Mets drafted Alonso No. 64 overall in 2016, and he made his big-league debut in 2019. The Florida alum led the league with 53 homers and was fourth with 120 RBI that season.

Alonso now has 233 career homers in 876 games.
