Just when we thought the Milwaukee Brewers were going to pull off an epic collapse, we may have been proven wrong.

Many thought that the Josh Hader trade had sunk them.

But now, in the month of September, they’re playing much better baseball and remain in the thick of the postseason chase.

At this point, it’s highly unlikely that they will catch the St. Louis Cardinals and win another NL Central title, but they’re not far back of the San Diego Padres for the final Wild Card spot.

Starting tonight, they’ll play 15 of their remaining 19 games at home.

They’ll have nine straight home games to wrap up the regular season, with their only remaining road games coming against the Cincinnati Reds.

Brewers Starting To Show Life

This could be a major advantage for the Brewers as they push for the third NL Wild Card spot and a potential trip to St. Louis for the Wild Card series.

They’re 8-2 in their previous 10 games, and in their last 26 home games, they have gone 18-8.

There’s reason to be optimistic right now in Milwaukee.

The team might be getting hot at just the right time.

Meanwhile, the Padres, they team they’re currently chasing in the Wild Card race, have been slumping and now find themselves desperately fighting for their postseason life.

The Brewers appear to be rejuvenated.

The shock seems to have worn off after the Hader trade and they’re playing much better baseball when it matters most.

This next stretch of games will be tough, as they’ll welcome the New York Yankees into town this weekend and kick off a three-game series with the New York Mets on Monday.

You can’t count them out just yet.
