Chris Buescher confronted Tyler Reddick after Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Speedway in Darlington, South Carolina, after Reddick’s driving cost both of them a higher finish in the Cup Series race.

Buescher’s No. 17 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for RFK Racing was running first with 10 laps to go in the race. Reddick’s No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE for 23XI Racing was running second. Reddick tried to make a move for first and drifted into Buescher going around Turn 4. The contact caused both cars to pop tires, so they both had to pit with fewer than 10 laps to go.

Instead of potentially winning the race, Buescher settled for a 30th-place finish, while Reddick finished 32nd.

No surprise, Buescher stormed straight to Reddick’s No. 45 car after the race to confront the 23XI Racing driver.

Reddick admitted his fault right away and took responsibility for his errors. He told Buescher that he screwed up and tried to back away as soon as he realized he wouldn’t be able to complete his pass, which led to the contact on the tires that took both of them out.

Buescher won three races last season but has yet to take a checkered flag in 2024. He had some serious frustration mounting after the way last week’s race at Kansas unfolded and then Reddick took him out on Sunday. It’s no wonder he was livid.
