Even though he has been the Boston Celtics’ best player for years, Jayson Tatum has always endured all kinds of criticism from the media. Just recently, though, the All-Star forward has already spoken about the disrespect he’s been getting lately.
Just recently, the Boston Celtics dismantled the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Tatum put on a show by tallying 33 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Jaylen Brown was highly effective on the floor when he notched 28 points on 76 percent shooting from the field and 66 percent from beyond the perimeter. Meanwhile, Jrue Holiday added 18 points and eight rebounds during the game.
The Cavaliers, on the other hand, had Donovan Mitchell in the driver’s seat with his 33 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Evan Mobley continued to step up amidst Jarrett Allen’s absence by posting 17 points and eight rebounds. Caris LeVert and Darius Garland each contributed 15 points.
The win solidified Boston’s lead in the series as they now hold a 2-1 lead over the Mitchell-led Cavaliers. Cleveland, meanwhile, need to win the following game to prevent the Celtics from holding a massive lead over them. In any case, the following days will be a make-or-break for the Cavs.
Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum Reveals Thoughts on Disrespectful Media Criticisms
After the game, Tatum faced reporters and answered several questions. In particular, Boston’s All-Star forward addressed the alleged disrespect he felt from the media, as seen in a post shared by Noa Dalzell on X:
For several years now, Tatum has been knocked by the media for several reasons. Some of these include constantly failing in the playoffs, being compared to the late Kobe Bryant, and not winning any individual awards in the NBA just yet, among others.
It remains to be seen whether Tatum will just let his game do the talking from now on or not. What’s certain, though, is that a fired up version of the Celtics star won’t be a good thing for the Cavaliers.
