Bradley Beal's agent shuts down trade rumors: 'He's not looking for the easy way out'

Despite Bradley Beal's own repeated insistence that he is not interested in being traded, trade rumors about the Wizards guard persist. Now his agent is attempting to make it clear that Beal is not looking to leave Washington and that there is no substance to any of the reports about him wanting out.

"[Beal] doesn’t want to quit on something,” Mark Bartelstein, Beal's agent, told Yahoo Sports' Ben Rohrbach. "He’s an incredibly loyal guy, and he wants to always feel like he’s done everything he can to help something or someone be successful."

For nearly a year, Beal has shut down any rumors about him wanting out of Washington, repeatedly saying that he wants to stay with the Wizards. And that feeling has appeared to be mutual, with Washington making no attempt to trade their star player.

But the closer we get to the March 25 trade deadline, the louder these apparently baseless trade rumors will likely get, as people simply cannot help but speculate about Beal leaving the Wizards. It's not hard to understand why, as Beal is currently leading the league in scoring but thanks to a weak supporting cast, Washington is currently tied for the lowest win total (6) in the entire league.

But Bartelstein insists none of that is enough to convince Beal to leave the Wizards.

"It’s the team that drafted him, the team that’s invested in him, and he desperately wants to make them a championship contender," Bartelstein said. "He wants to make it happen. That’s the way he is. He’s not looking for the easy way out."
