The Chicago Bulls are discussing Zach LaVine trades with rival teams, and LaVine reportedly will be happy to move on.

But talking trade and actually making progress on one are two different matters entirely.

As Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times has revealed yet again, the Bulls are getting nowhere in trade discussions involving LaVine — try as the Bulls might.

“The Sun-Times has reported several times that the Bulls front office was finding very little demand for LaVine, hoping that the climate would change as the Feb. 8 trade deadline approaches,” Cowley wrote. “There’s also a possibility that LaVine could remain a Bull, which would not be what either side want.”

Earlier Monday, a report from Sam Amick of The Athletic revealed that agent Rich Paul said LaVine, if traded, has no preferred destination.

“It’s not one team,” Paul said. “I don’t have a specific destination for Zach. I want what’s best for Zach and his family. When you have a guy playing the game, you want him to be able to play the game happy, whether that’s in Chicago or somewhere else.”
