Heat star debuts another wild training camp hairstyle

The Heat may have missed on Damian Lillard, but that won't stop Jimmy Butler's new preseason tradition.

One year after coming to media day in long locs, Butler showed up Monday looking like the lead singer of an emo band. Then he explained that the new style was because he was "one with my emotions."

Perhaps the new bangs are a symbol of Butler's emotional state after Miami failed in its pursuit of Lillard, and then saw the Boston Celtics pick up Jrue Holiday. The Heat saw starters Gabe Vincent and Max Strus leave in free agency, while the most prominent player they added was Josh Richardson. It's enough to make anyone emotional.

Last year, Butler had locs for all of training camp, ditching them just before the season started. He kept them long enough for a photo shoot, which meant that his official NBA photo featured the locs look for months, long after the extensions were gone.

Will Butler keep the look through team photo day? Will he go a step further and add eyeliner and black nail polish to his look? Could the noted music fan record a pop-punk album in training camp?

All we know is that Butler says the Heat are returning to the Finals. And that's his emotional truth.
