Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has shown as much improvement as any player in the NBA over the past few seasons, and his confidence has clearly grown even more than his game.

Jokic spoke about Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal during an interview with TNT this week, and he was asked how he thinks he would have fared against Shaq in the post. Jokic looked straight into the camera and told the four-time NBA champion that he can’t guard him.

Of course, Jokic was kidding. He then went on to talk about how amazed he was by Shaq’s size when he saw him in person, which says a lot coming from a player who is 7 feet tall.

Jokic averaged 18.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per game last season, and he is off to an even better start this year, averaging 23.4 points through the first five games. He’s on the verge of becoming a superstar and justifying every penny of the contract the Nuggets gave him, and Jokic clearly has an awesome sense of humor as well.
