Pacers' Domantas Sabonis leaves bubble with 'significant foot injury'

The Indiana Pacers did not enjoy a pleasant start to their Christmas in July celebrations.

On Friday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Pacers All-Star forward Domantas Sabonis has left the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex bubble site with a "significant left foot injury" and is seeking treatment from a specialist.

Wojnarowski added that Sabonis has been dealing with plantar fasciitis and could miss the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old was enjoying a career season when the NBA halted play on March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic. He averaged 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists, all career bests, over 62 games before the league suspended the campaign.

It remains unknown if guard Victor Oladipo will participate for the Pacers during the NBA's resumption. Oladipo opted-out of playing earlier this month but ultimately elected to join the Pacers in Florida. He hasn't yet made a final decision.
