Report: Cavaliers' Collin Sexton expected to have 'multiple' suitors this offseason

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton will be a restricted free agent this summer.

While the Cavaliers are currently working on a contract extension for the 23-year-old guard, according to a report, Sexton is expected to garner interest from several teams this offseason.

According to cleveland.com's Chris Fedor, the Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers will pursue Sexton once he hits restricted free agency.

"Sources tell cleveland.com Sexton is expected to have 'multiple' suitors," Fedor wrote. "While the Washington Wizards may have interest in a sign-and-trade, Detroit and Indiana are viewed as the biggest threats. At least one member of Cleveland's front office wonders if the Pistons will make Sexton a priority, especially if Dallas retains prized free agent Jalen Brunson."

After the Cavaliers' season ended in the play-in round in April, Sexton revealed his desire to stay in Cleveland.

"I want to be here in Cleveland. I love the organization, love my teammates and whatever happens I know that Cleveland was really good to me," Sexton said. "I know this is the place that helped me get to where I am today, and I know I want to continue to be a part of this winning culture. I feel like me just being able to be at the start of it helped us get to yesterday and where we are right now at the present. I love Cleveland. I want to be here."

Sexton played in only 11 games this season for the Cavaliers after recovering from surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

Sexton has averaged 20.0 points, 3.3 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game, playing in 218 games in four seasons with Cleveland.
