Sebastian Telfair opened up about his challenging experiences, including wearing an ankle monitor for five years and losing around $10 million. During an interview on Vlad TV, Telfair discussed the inconvenience of having an ankle monitor.

"Um, well, I went to the appellate court, right?...Um, went to the appellate. They got me out on appeal. And then I was on appeal for like a year. And then that appeal, they denied that appeal. "

"So my current job was out of the country so they you know, I took my passport, right? I'm still been playing in China stuff played until you hold you on so for the past five years you could have been playing in China."

He revealed that the ankle monitor, a result of legal issues, has been a constant annoyance for him. Telfair shared insights into his legal battles, mentioning that he went through the appellate court, spending time on appeal for a year. The case eventually went to the Supreme Court, and recently, they reversed the decision. However, he still has to deal with the ankle monitor until he can pay it off, describing it as a "shakedown" and estimating the cost at around $25,000.

Additionally, Telfair discussed how the legal issues prevented him from pursuing opportunities abroad, specifically mentioning China. Despite having the potential to play and earn millions in China, he was confined to New York for the past five years. Telfair expressed frustration about losing over $10 million in salary during this time.

The interview shed light on the personal and financial toll that legal battles took on Telfair's life, impacting his career and opportunities. Despite the challenges, Telfair remains hopeful about the future and getting back to pursuing his passions.

Sebastian Telfair On Getting His Mom A House

Sebastian Telfair, reflecting on his NBA career and the millions he earned during his 10 seasons, shared insights into the best and worst purchases he made. The best decision, according to Telfair, was buying a house for his mother. Despite her initial reluctance to leave their New York residence, Telfair considers this act one of his proudest moments.

On the flip side, Telfair candidly admitted that his worst purchases were everything he bought for his ex-wife, Samantha Telfair. The couple went through a divorce in 2019, with Samantha seeking sole legal and physical custody of their two children. Telfair expressed regret over the financial investments made during their relationship.

During the interview, Telfair also touched on the challenges of relationships within the NBA, suggesting that many NBA wives might be motivated by financial interests. He highlighted the high divorce rate among NBA players and advised current players to exercise caution in their relationships. Telfair drew attention to the personal experiences of NBA stars like Kevin Garnett, Shaquille O'Neal, and Michael Jordan, emphasizing the need for players to be mindful of potential shifts in their partners' energy.

While Telfair's NBA career didn't reach the heights expected after his impressive high school performances, he did have significant contributions during his time with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he had the best years of his career. Ultimately, Telfair's journey through the NBA had its ups and downs, shaping his perspective on financial decisions and relationships.
