One of the worst feelings in the world is buying or acquiring something of great value and not being able to use it. One can think of perhaps a new vehicle. You need good tires on a vehicle to drive it safely. If you live in an area with rough terrain, you may not want to test being on the road if the tires aren’t good.

This is the situation the Washington Wizards are facing now. As they recently acquired sharpshooter Landry Shamet, the Wizards had big plans for him. He has suffered a fracture of his big toe that will sideline him for two to four weeks. This is a fragile injury that the Wizards must monitor and be careful about. These type of injuries have the tendacy of reagravation and could lead to more time missed.

This training camp was especially important for Landry Shamet as he is new to the team and still trying to find his role. Could the role be a starter or is it best as a reserved to come off the bench? Missing training camp will play a huge role in that decision. The beauty of Shamet’s game is he is the type of player that can be effective for both roles. His floor stretching capabilities and shot making abilities is key and very critical for any team or role. He has had success in this league for a number of years now with a number of different teams such as the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, LA Clippers, and the Phoenix Suns. He will look to build upon that success with the Wizards upon a healthy return to the court.
