Aaron Rodgers' contract extension with Packers now official
It looks like at long last, two-time reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers has officially signed his contract extension with the Green Bay Packers. Multiple reports on Tuesday morning indicated that the financial details in the extension are complicated, but that the signing was official.
It was widely reported last Tuesday that Rodgers had inked a four-year, $200 million extension with Green Bay. The controversial quarterback then took to Twitter just hours later to dispute that the deal had been finalized, saying the terms of the contract were "inaccurate" but assuring Packers fans that he was returning to the team.
Rodgers turned 38 in December and had reportedly been considering retirement or shipping off to other teams such as the Denver Broncos. No. 12 is coming off of his third consecutive season with 13 regular-season wins and fourth straight campaign with at least 4,000 passing yards.
Rodgers has led the NFL in touchdown percentage, interception percentage and quarterback rating in each of the last two years. His passing precision has seemingly gotten better with age, as he hasn't thrown more than eight interceptions in a season since 2010.
