It's been a tough year for the New York Giants as far as injuries go. And that continued Sunday in their game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Left tackle Andrew Thomas, who returned to action last week against the Raiders after missing seven games with a hamstring injury suffered in Week 1 against the Cowboys, injured his knee in the first quarter of the Giants' game at Dallas.
The injury happened when Dallas defensive lineman MAzi Smith beat Giants left guard Justin Pugh to blow up a Saquon Barkley run. Thomas, who was looking at his man, had his left leg pinned underneath him in the scrum as bodies rolled up on his leg.
Thomas lay face down on the turf in pain for several minutes while Giants trainers rushed to attend to him. He was able to limp off the field under his own power to the blue medical tent, but he barely stayed there before the cart came out to take him back to the locker room.
The Giants said Thomas' return was questionable due to a knee injury. Pugh moved over to left guard, and Marcus McKetan came in at left guard once Thomas left the game.
Thomas returned to the game in the second quarter.
