Antonio Brown throws uniform into stands, runs off field mid-game

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown had a full-scale meltdown during the team's Week 17 game against the New York Jets. Brown stripped off his jersey, shoulder pads, gloves, and undershirt on the sideline, tossed several items to fans in the crowd, before leaving the field.

What led to Brown's explosive exit remains to be seen with the FOX broadcast only saying that he was "very upset on the sideline" before he began taking his uniform off.

At the time of his exit, the Buccaneers trailed the Jets, 24-10, and Brown had three receptions for 26 yards. A week ago, he returned from a three-game suspension for a fake vaccine card to catch 10 passes for 101 yards against the Carolina Panthers.

When Brown joined the Buccaneers during the 2020 season, coach Bruce Arians said the receiver would be released "if he screws up one time." Arians walked that comment back after Brown's 2021 suspension, saying he won't release Brown because "only thing I care about is this football team."
