Bears' rotten week continues with stolen stadium equipment

The Chicago Bears are having a brutal week, and not even the equipment at Soldier Field is safe from the madness.

ABC7 in Chicago reported on Friday that more than $100,000 in lawn equipment was stolen from Soldier Field on Wednesday night, including gators and lawnmowers. Soldier Field staff reported that the thieves tore down a security fence and drove the equipment off of the property.

(This all sounds almost exactly like what happened to George Costanza on "Seinfeld.")

Imagine being in the Bears front office right now and having to deal with everything that has happened over the past few days

Not only is the team 0-2 and riding a 12-game losing streak, losing 15 out of 16 games dating back to last season, but everything is a mess. Defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigned for unexplained reasons (with some wild rumors floating around it). The wide receiver (Chase Claypool) the team traded the No. 32 overall pick in the draft for seems to be on the outs with the organization after failing to match the hype he arrived with. All this is happening while quarterback Justin Fields is not only badly regressing, but also took a shot at the coaching staff this week for making him play like a robot.

Even worse, the team is taking all of that drama on the road into Kansas City to face the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs on Sunday.

Now somebody had to go into the front office and explain why $100,000 in equipment was stolen from the stadium.

When it rains, it pours. Right now the Bears are dealing with a deluge.
