Broncos acquire nine-time Pro Bowl QB Russell Wilson in blockbuster trade with Seahawks

The Denver Broncos may have missed out on Aaron Rodgers, but they ended up landing another veteran, future Hall-of-Fame quarterback on Tuesday.

In Wilson, the Broncos get a nine-time Pro Bowler and former Super Bowl champion. Denver hasn't made the postseason since the 2015 season, a campaign that ended with Peyton Manning helping the group to a Super Bowl 50 win over the Carolina Panthers in his final year in the NFL.

Since then, the Broncos have shuffled through both youthful and experienced players under center, including Trevor Siemian, Case Keenum, Joe Flacco, Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater. Lock was picked by Denver in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft but has gone 8-13 in 21 career starts, while posting an underwhelming stat line of 59.3% completion percentage, 4,740 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

Fant was the Broncos' first-round selection at 20th overall in 2019. The 24-year-old has registered 170 receptions for 1,905 yards and 10 touchdowns over 47 career games.

After being drafted by the then-Oakland Raiders in the seventh round in 2014, Harris played just eight games for the club in his first two professional seasons. Harris signed with Denver in 2017 and has played 75 contests with the group in the last five years, tying his career-high in tackles (49), quarterback hits (11) and sacks (6.0) in 2021.

Wilson ends his Seahawks career as the franchise's all-time leader in passing yards (37,059), passing touchdowns (292), fourth-quarter comebacks (24) and game-winning drives (32), among other categories. As a runner, Wilson also ranks fifth in team history in rushing yards (4,689).
