Browns RG Wyatt Teller out for Giants game with ankle injury

The Cleveland Browns avoided a potential offensive headache when they were able to activate starting right guard Wyatt Teller off the reserve/COVID-19 list in time for Monday's thrilling prime-time showdown with the Baltimore Ravens that Cleveland lost 47-42 to fall to 9-4 on the season.

Good fortune did not smile upon the Browns this time around.

As Mary Kay Cabot reported for Cleveland.com, the Browns have ruled Teller out for Sunday night's matchup against the New York Giants because of the ankle injury the 26-year-old suffered in the loss to Baltimore.

More worrisome, coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that Teller is "week-to-week" past Sunday. Cleveland ends the regular season with games versus the winless New York Jets and division-leading Pittsburgh Steelers.

Teller remains the highest-rated guard for 2020 per Pro Football Focus even though he previously missed a few outings because of a Grade 2 calf strain.

The Giants, meanwhile, are also entering Sunday evening well below full strength. Top cornerback James Bradberry will stay on the reserve/COVID-19 list through at least Monday, per NFL protocols, and won't play against Cleveland. Starting quarterback Daniel Jones is listed as questionable as he attempts to recover from hamstring and ankle injuries.

It's believed veteran Colt McCoy, who spent his first three seasons (2010-12) with the Browns, will start in place of Jones.
