Buccaneers' Antonio Brown (ankle) out vs. Saints
The 6-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will once again be without a familiar offensive weapon, this time for Sunday's game at the 4-2 New Orleans Saints.
According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, star wide receiver Antonio Brown will be sidelined because of the ankle injury that kept him out of last Sunday's 38-3 win over the Chicago Bears and out of practice throughout the midweek.
On a positive note for the Bucs, head coach Bruce Arians told reporters that tight end Rob Gronkowski (cracked ribs), inside linebacker Lavonte David (low ankle sprain) cornerback Richard Sherman (hamstring strain), and cornerback Dee Delaney (ankle) "have a chance" to play against the Saints heading into the weekend.
Quarterback Tom Brady was without Brown and Gronkowski against Chicago last Sunday but didn't seem to miss them one bit. Brady completed 20-of-36 passes for 211 yards and four touchdowns en route to reaching career TD toss No. 600, and the Buccaneers rushed for 182 yards as a team against the overmatched Bears.
As for the Saints, quarterback Jameis Winston will be making his first start against his old club and admitted Thursday: "Obviously I want to beat 'em, I want to beat 'em bad."
