Buccaneers CB Sean Murphy-Bunting suffered dislocated elbow in season opener vs. Cowboys

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting exited Thursday's 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the first quarter and was ruled out with an elbow injury.

After the game, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians told reporters that Murphy-Bunting suffered a dislocated elbow when his arm was caught between Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and Bucs safety Antoine Winfield Jr.

It's unclear when Murphy-Bunting will return to the field. He could be out for a few weeks or even longer.

The 24-year-old is in his third season with the Buccaneers. He was a big contributor during the team's Super Bowl run last season, recording one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 70 tackles in 16 regular-season games.

If Murphy-Bunting misses next week's game against the Atlanta Falcons, Jamel Dean and Dee Delaney could see more playing time.

Dean is in his third year with the Bucs. He had an interception and 62 tackles in 14 games last season. Meanwhile, Delaney is in his first season with the Buccaneers after a year with the Jacksonville Jaguars and a year with the Washington Football Team.
