Buccaneers RB heading into 2023 season with a chip on his shoulder
Drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, former Arizona State Sun Devil Rachaad White saw plenty of action in his first season.
He was heavily involved in the passing game leading rookie running backs with 50 receptions but was unable to show his explosiveness in the running game with only two games with over 60 rushing yards.
In 2022 the Buccaneers had arguably the worst rushing offense in the NFL, with 386 rush attempts, 1308 rushing yards and averaging 3.4 yards per carry all NFL lows.
With a pass-heavy gameplan and a pieced-together offensive line, White wasn't in a recipe for success his rookie year. But that hasn't stopped the rumors to swirl and the analysts to voice their opinions.
NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently mocked Texas running back Bijan Robinson to the Buccaneers with the 19th pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft,
White had some choice words for another draft analyst JC Cornell after he tweeted that it was "A little too early to call White a budding star."
White responded by saying "give me 200 plus carries like the other guys you comparing me to then see, you're just making assumptions."
Flashing explosive plays with his speed, he also showed off his physicality on multiple occasions.
With new offensive coordinator Dave Canales and a new running back coach Skip Peete, White has a new offense to learn and new people to impress all over again.
He will also have a new quarterback with Tom Brady retiring in the offseason, With the next quarterback still unknown.
With his rookie season behind him, White will look to prove the critics wrong in 2023.
