Could Antonio Brown reunite with Tom Brady on the Bucs? Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Buccaneers reportedly interested in Antonio Brown

Could Antonio Brown and Tom Brady reunite as teammates? There have been rumors that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be interested in bringing in the controversial receiver to bolster their already loaded offense.

During an appearance "The Pat McAfee Show," The Athletic's Mike Lombardi was asked about the Buccaneers' potential interest in Brown and he said it was a possibility. He reiterated the idea on Twitter this morning.

From a football perspective, Brown joining the Buccaneers would be absolutely terrifying for opposing defenses. Tampa Bay already has arguably the best receiver duo in the league with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, so adding Brown would make them one of the most lethal receiving corps in NFL history, at least on paper.

Brown missed all but one game last season, where he played with Brady on the Patriots, racking up 56 receiving yards and a touchdown before he was cut by the team after allegations of sexual assault surfaced. He has not played in the NFL since. Even if Brown is signed by the Buccaneers or any other team, he is expected to be suspended by the league upon returning, with reports saying he may miss up to eight games.

There is also the fact that Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians may not be interested in Brown, as he shut down rumors of the receiver joining the team back in March.

"It’s not gonna happen," Arians said. "There’s no room, and probably not enough money, but it’s just not gonna happen. It’s just not a fit here... I just know him and it’s not a fit in our locker room."

Of course, that was months ago and his mind could have changed by now but for now, Brown joining Tampa Bay seems to be mostly speculation.
