Cardinals GM Steve Keim, HC Kliff Kingsbury given contract extensions through 2027 season
Fresh off their first playoff appearance in six years , the Arizona Cardinals have decided to reward their general manager and head coach with contract extensions.
"The leadership of both Steve and Kliff have been key factors in the team's turnaround over the last three seasons," Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill said, per Darren Urban of azcardinals.com. "We are all looking forward to continuing that progress and recognize these two individuals will be a big part of achieving our long-term goals as an organization."
Both Keim and Kingsbury are currently in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to Urban.
During Keim's nine seasons as GM, the Cardinals have gone 76-67-2 in the regular season and 1-3 in the playoffs. Arizona previously made the postseason in 2014 and 2015 with Keim at the helm.
Kingsbury just wrapped up his third season in the desert, and during his tenure, the team has posted a 24-24-1 regular-season mark and 0-1 record in the playoffs. The former quarterback spent six years as the head coach at Texas Tech before joining the Cardinals.
