Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon blasts Philadelphia media

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon left his post as the Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator in mid-February. He recently called out the Philadelphia media over how he felt they treated him amidst the team's undefeated start during the 2022 season.

This isn't the first time this offseason that Gannon has made headlines over a conversation regarding his time with the Eagles.

At the beginning of March, safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson (who has since joined the Detroit Lions) called out Gannon in a deleted tweet, blaming him for the team's shortcomings in the Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Gardner-Johnson quote-tweeted a reporter's post where Gannon talked about "what went wrong in the 2nd half in the Super Bowl" and wrote "You ain't put us in position to make plays."

The Eagles lost to the Chiefs 38-35 in the title game, marking the second-highest number of points that Philadelphia allowed in a game during the 2022 campaign. Philadelphia surrendered only seven points in each of their first two playoff games and hadn't given up more than 20 points since Week 16 when they lost to the Dallas Cowboys 40-34.

Gannon's group allowed MVP Patrick Mahomes to score 24 points in the second half of the comeback and record 158 rushing yards, while forcing zero turnovers and posting no sacks as well.
